The Centre has welcomed Pat Cox, former President of the European Parliament (2002-2004), as new member to its advisory board.
Pat Cox was President of the European Parliament from 2002 to 2004, and a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 2004. Previous to being an MEP, he was elected to the Irish parliament representing Cork South-Central for the Progressive Democrats in 1992 and before that he was a journalist and television presenter with the Irish national broadcaster RTÉ’s Today Tonight current affairs programme. Since 2012, Pat Cox has led a European Parliament monitoring mission in Ukraine, and since 2015 he has been the president of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe.
